This is a good exercise for students who just want to start learning exam's sight-reading.
This is because the key is C major. And the rhythm are majority longer than crotchets. Plus dynamics only have 2 different levels. Lastly the speed is Andante.
Student will feel satisfactory after trying it as it is quite manageable. Hopefully they will enjoy more sight-reading through the first step.

2nd exercise we can have this.
Same as above with C major. Position will be easy to control. But more quavers to overcome so the counting has to be aware. In Utterly Music, we always ask students to 'play faster' when they see 'joining lines' on the quaver groups. It works but teachers need to judge on their performance on the spot to prevent slippery fingers and uneven quaver beats.
All the best to all candidates who are undergoing the preparation of practical exams.
